USING THE LIBRARY

Terms of use

A framework for reading, citation and reuse of the antiques library’s content and links.

Updated

What the service provides

antiques is an independent knowledge project owned by Jonathan Santo. It offers explanations, reading guides, bibliographic details and research links for learning and reference. There is no registration, selling, payment, manuscript submission or academic publishing service. Use does not establish a professional relationship or a commitment to provide advice.

Reading, linking and citation

You may read without an account and direct others to a specific page address. When relying on an explanation here, identify the site, page title, address and access date. For a claim based on research, consult the original source and cite its authors and publication details as well.

Quotation and reuse are subject to applicable law and relevant licences. This page does not grant a blanket licence to reproduce the site, publish a complete translation, remove attribution or use photographs without checking their terms. Contact the project about uses not clearly covered by a licence.

Rights in sources and images

Explanations written for the project are distinct from the studies they reference. An external article, PDF or photograph may be protected by its rights holder’s terms. Sources, captions and licences accompanying assets help you check reuse conditions. An external link is not that institution’s permission for further use.

Accuracy, changes and reliance

Research changes, dates may be ranges and explanations may reflect disagreement. Texts and translations were prepared with AI assistance and internal checks, without a guarantee that every error was found. Content supports learning, rather than replacing source verification or professional assessment, treatment or conservation of a find. It does not provide practical excavation or object-treatment instructions.

Pages may be updated, and external links may change or require authorisation. A historical address redirected to related content does not mean the original document has been restored or fully reproduced. The site’s update date does not change a study’s original publication year.

Respectful use

Avoid disrupting the service, bypassing access controls or misleading others about the site’s identity or institutional affiliations. Check rights before extensive reuse or redistribution, and enquire if the scope is unclear. These terms do not reduce rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Questions and changes

For reuse, rights or content-error enquiries, email [email protected] and identify the page and request. The sources policy explains corrections, and the privacy policy describes information in an enquiry. Material new features will require these terms to be updated with the date shown on the page.
